I wrote this thinking back about the time my heart was destroyed by someone insensitive and selfish and from that stand point that you can take my heart, you can break it, you can be indiscreet and mean, but you know there is one thing you just don’t deserve and that is a tear from my eye.

(YOU DON’T DESERVE) ONE TEAR
Honey I can taste the lie that still lingers on your lips
Jack Daniel’s whiskey mixed with someone else’s kiss
I can smell the cheap perfume with every breath I breathe
I found a red lip stick love note in the pocket of your jeans
On baby you sure got some nerve
But there's something you didn't earn
Don’t waste my time with some lame excuse
Your lies are stronger than the ninety proof
You don't deserve one tear from my eye
To be a thought that crosses my mind
You don't deserve to hear my goodbye
You don't deserve one tear from my eye
I guess the promise that you made with this diamond ring
Don’t mean nothing much to you, but to me was everything
All the pieces you made of my heart
Who the hell do you think you are
You don't deserve one tear from my eye
To be a thought that crosses my mind
You don't deserve to hear my goodbye
You don't deserve one tear from my eye
Honey some day you'll learn
We get what we deserve
There's a place you have earned
Where you’ll go and you will burn
All the places you left a scar
Who the hell do you think you are?
You don't deserve one tear from my eye
To be a thought that crosses my mind
You don't deserve to hear my goodbye
You don't deserve one tear from my eye

Tedd,
The “you don’t deserve one tear” sends a very strong message and is very unique. I liked it, although I personally didn’t get hooked on it. If that makes sense. Not saying that it is bad. I’d like to see how others respond to it.
I think overall the song has a nice female retaliation feel to it. Something I think that you could almost see Gretchen Wilson singing.
Nice job.
