I like this song, very professional.
I love the way you made so few words say so much and the delivery was right on in my humble opinion.
Also great engineering, let’s not forget Him.
God bless you and yours!

I really enjoyed your message and melody on this one.  I’m particularly happy hearing more of a ‘traditional’ sounding song here.  Have you tried it in a rap?  Just kidding…

This is so good!  Great job. I agree with the above statement that the more traditional lean on this is refreshing to hear.

Great demo Marvin.
I was a little confused on the second line in V1.
You mention hands at 10 and 2 and then you mention holdin an old friend. I get that you are remembering back but I wonder if that might stick with anyone else. Maybe its just me.

I think the bridge says a lot while only using 8 words. Nice job there Marvin.

Good luck Marvin
Cheers,
Joe

Nice song. I’d echo most of the comments here about liking professional demo, the traditional country vibe, the tight structure, and the economy of words. It’s a cut above the average song I hear on this site.  I am pretty amazed at the number of views you are getting.  Wish I knew your secret there.  Craft and talen, yes, that must be it.

Closer Than They Appear

Written by Marvin Adcock

Hands at two and ten I tightly grip the steering wheel
Holdin' an old friend and still remembrin' how it feels
Freedom of the road, sixteen years old
Just like that, I go back

Cause it’s a part of me, it’s the heart of me
Shadows in my rear view
Mem’ries in the mirror are closer than they appear

Every time I swear I hear that George Strait tune
I’m back in her arms singing along to “Baby Blue”
Learnin’ by mistakes, backroads, driveways
Just like that, I go back

Cause it’s a part of me, it’s the heart of me
Shadows in my rear view
Mem’ries in the mirror are closer than they appear

First kiss - fresh starts - lost friends - broke hearts

It’s a part of me, it’s the heart of me
Shadows in my rear view
Mem’ries in the mirror are closer - so much closer - than they appear
