About This Song

This song is a few years old.

It is about how we all have those days/months/years when we don't feel like ourselves. When you look back and think of how did I get to this place.

Feedback Requested

This is just a quick one take through recording. I am working on legitimately recording this stuff soon.

Sometimes I get disappointed in my own lack of ability to write a song that lends itself well to harmonies. This whole song can be great for multiple harmonies. Think of Lorde, Fleet Foxes, or Crosby Stills & Nash. Give it a try.

The line “lingering emotion” felt awkward, but good song.

Person Unrecognizable

Written by Mackenzie Benish

Sitting here watching my face in the mirror
Staring myself right dead in the eye
Wondering why I don't recognize
The person inside

I gasp for breath
I can barely breath
This lingering emotion is hanging over me
I'm just a shadow of the person I want to be

Every word I say comes out in anger
And that's not the way I planned it to be
What happen to patient smile
The love that never died

Mirror mirror I don't want to feel this way anymore
Mirror mirror I don't want to think this way anymore
