About This Song

"No Place For Country" is a Song That I wrote about my "Texas red dirt" Musician friends that are "Country to the bone" but have been told by Music Executives that their style of music is "TOO Country" and that there is just No appetite for that on "Today's Country Radio". From what I see thou, People crave REAL Country music and in a BIG way!

You obviously have been talking with the same wannabe country execs that I have!  It’s a shame that most of the time, to hear real country, you have to go to one of the classic stations.  I have to say there are a few artists today that do real country, but it’s hard to get to them.  I’ll keep writing them “too country” if you will also!

NO PLACE FOR COUNTRY PG 1

(VERSE)
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK HEY MUSIC ROW,
I'VE BEEN OUT HERE KNOCKING WON'T YOU OPEN THE DOOR
YA SEE I'VE BEEN WRITING SONGS, TAKIN’ NOTES AND LESSONS
YEAH, STUDYING THE WAYS OF OUR COUNTRY MUSIC LEGENDS

(CHORUS)
WELL SON,
RIGHT NOW THERE'S NO PLACE FOR COUNTRY IN COUNTRY RADIO
WITH OUTSIDE INFLUENCE CALLING THE SHOTS YOU NEED A POP SOUND TO GO PRO
EVERYTHINGS BEEN DONE BEFORE, IT'S ALL BEEN SAID, BUT YOU DO HAVE TALENT THERE'S NO DOUBT
WE JUST CANT USE SONGS ABOUT HEARTACHE, TRUCKS, DRINKING OR YOUR FARMS DROUGHT

(VERSE)
OH MAN, I JUST REALIZED AND IT HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS WITH A HARD BLOW
GEORGE AND ALAN WERE RIGHT, THERE’S BEEN A MURDER DOWN ON MUSIC ROW
AND SONGS ABOUT TRAINS, TRUCKS, MAMMAS, PRISON AND GETTIN’ DRUNK AS YOU KNOW
IS THE PERFECT COUNTRY SONG, JUST ASK DAVID ALLAN COE

(CHORUS)
WELL SON,
RIGHT NOW THERE'S NO PLACE FOR COUNTRY IN COUNTRY RADIO
WITH OUTSIDE INFLUENCE CALLING THE SHOTS YOU NEED A POP SOUND TO GO PRO
EVERYTHINGS BEEN DONE BEFORE, ITS ALL BEEN SAID, BUT YOU DO HAVE TALENT THERE'S NO DOUBT
WE JUST CANT USE SONGS ABOUT HEARTACHE, TRUCKS, DRINKING OR YOUR FARMS DROUGHT

(VERSE)
SEVERAL YEARS AND HIT SONGS LATER I'M GLAD I STUCK TO MY COUNTRY ROOTS
FROM WHAT I SEE, PEOPLE LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC AND STILL WEARING BOOTS
WE’RE LOUD, PROUD AND STILL LISTEN TO CHRIS LEDOUX
WE STILL LOVE OUR OLD COUNTRY AND SOME OF THE NEW
TIMES HAVE CHANGED BUT THE MESSAGE STAYS THE SAME
IF COUNTRY’S NOT ON THE RADIO, WE KNOW WHO’S TO BLAME

AND SOME STILL SAY. .

THERE'S NO PLACE FOR COUNTRY IN COUNTRY RADIO
