About This Song

I wrote this song after a realisation that sometimes I just try to do too much in life, I call it catching bullets. These days I just chill out have a beer and try to figure the world...

Feedback Requested

This is just an idea, looking for feedback on everything from lyrics, ideas for taking to full band, who you feel it sounds like.

Ok I like the rhythm your playing some of the wordplay to me I am trying to make since of the chorus not trying to belittle the song at all just being honest maybe I’m looking for more description in the content are the bullets a metaphor or literal if i had to guess the song is about growing up in a neighborhood were it was a struggle to survive, or it could be for the military, or a metaphor for hate speak so I am just trying to really catch the concept I hope you dont mind my honesty.

Catching Bullets

Written by Jason Sweeney

Life is a little different,
I'm protecting from, raging currents,
Doors closed and gentle whispering,
I look towards the future,
Staying a little looser,
Sometimes I even listen,

I try, to do the best I can,

CHORUS
We all run away,
Then come back another day,
Believe me when I say,
I've stood there catching bullets,
We have all moved on,
Yesterday is gone,
It easier said than done,
When you've been catching bullets.

From the shelter of my chair,
I contemplate while drinking beer,
Days of deep thinking,
I say want I want,
I know I'm not the only one,
Who works out new beginnings,

It all gets a little bit easier,

CHORUS

BRIDGE
Life gets a little crazy sometimes,
You want to run away,
When I don't understand
I accept I gots so much to learn,
each day

CHORUS
