Then after I wrote it, my sister lost her husband to Alzheimer's....." />
I read an article in AARP with Vince Gill and Amy Grant.. when Amy was asked how she would feel if there wasn't a Vince Gill, she said " I'd miss him everyday" .. that's all I needed to hear.
Then after I wrote it, my sister lost her husband to Alzheimer's.....
I've been trying to work it into a type of linda Rondstadt Trio thing but not getting anywhere. literally ANY AND ALL suggestions are welcome...

EVERY DAY
Lyrics and music by Elizabeth Kurman c 2019
What would I do if I never knew your love or laughter?
I expect I’d get on with and about my merry way
Now and then I’d pause and wonder at this whole in my heart
And I’d think how much I miss you every day.
Every day I didn’t have someone to make me smile
Every day I have no joy in my life
Every day I wasn’t sure if I made the right choices
oh, I know I’d be lost
And I’d miss you every day
Some people just let their other half walk on by
They don’t see all the turns in their lives
Some fools don’t even notice
Time’s just passing them by
I’m so glad we reached out and tried
(MUSICAL TURNAROUND)
Every day I didn’t have someone to make me smile
Every day I have no joy in my life
Every day I wasn’t sure if I made the right choices
oh, I know I’d be lost
And I’d miss you every day
Every day
Everyday
Everyday!
I’d miss you everyday
What would I do?
I’d miss you every day
EVERY DAY!
I’d miss you every day….

Hi Ellie,
Thanks for sharing.
This is a very sweet song with a very wide appeal.
Great use of the old trick to put an upbeat melody on a sad lyric. The result, to me, is quite uplifting.
My personal choices will likely be different on the title (I’d prefer “I’ll Miss You Everyday”); I would replace or eliminate where possible the conditional “would” to “will,” more direct and everyday; and shorten the lyric part on the outro and/or add a few instrumental bars, if you like a longer outro. My 2 cents.
