About This Song

This is a rockin', country female song, but unfortunately at this time, it is demoed with my male vocal. Sorry for that!

Feedback Requested

This is a song of mine that's received the most interest over the last couple years. What's it missing? Maybe a better demo? A great female singer?

Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and the nice compliment. I really appreciate it. As you know, it’s not easy to write a song, and def not easy to put it out there for others to listen and critique.
I’ll check out some of your songs and return the favor with some feedback.
Thanks again.

good Rockin song and by the way Rick you have a good voice I write a lot from the female point of view I can hear Gretchen Wilson or even Miranda Lambert although I believe she does a lot of her own writing

This is a great tempo and positive tune! So hard to find good upbeat songs with a positive message. The recording and mix sounds great and great job with the vocals as well! I really enjoyed listening to this song a lot. Just a really well put together, solid song. Right on!

Great song Rick and the demo sounds great . To me sitting on the line between country and rock James McMurtry / joe Ely kinda vibe
Sounds great

Thanks, James! I was hoping it was going to be the next big Miranda Lambert hit, but that didn’t happen. Lol. Thanks again.

Man, you can really get up there! Great song ... Do you have a male version?

Thank you,  Uncle Brent! Not sure how much you know about recording, but believe me, this resulted in a LOT of overdubs/punch-ins, comping, tuning, etc.. Lol. Shoot, even on the songs that aren’t high, it takes me many, many takes, and they’re still not really a great demo vocal. But I try the best I can.

To answer your question, I don’t have a male version of this song. It does have a lot of female leaning lyrics.

Again, thank you for the compliment on the song. That really means a lot when a complete stranger gives a nice compliment, you know? I mean, my Mom thinks every song I’ve ever written is a #1! smile

Lol … Moms tend to be the greatest fans and it’s too bad we can’t have more people with the same enthusiasm.

I wouldn’t worry about the punch-ins and comps because it’s how it is these days but you deliver it on this song.  You have some other songs that are good but the key is not right for your voice … You need to find that sweet spot of your voice like on Bring It On.

I’m a fan so keep’em coming. smile

I struggle with the right key and the right tempo. Do you have any tips? Thanks again.

Bring It On
(Written By: Rick Allan Lane)

Verse
If a trainwreck’s waitin' around the bend
Bring it on
If trouble thinks it’s my best friend
Bring it on
Yeah, my life ain't been a thing of beauty
Got more drama than a Lifetime movie
And I'm still waitin' on my happy ending
Bring it on

Chorus
I've been burned by burnin’ both ends of the candle
Had it handed to me more than I can handle
But I won't sit around and cry poor me
Whatever lies in store for me
Bring it on
Bring it on

Verse
I see that you can talk a big talk
Bring it on
Well, I've worn a path around this block
Bring it on
I've learned many times that talk is cheap
But you go on, boy, keep flirtin' with me
If you think you can outfox this fox
Bring it on

Chorus

Bridge
I've had my share of dusk 'til dawns
So many times they've done me wrong
But I'm sittin' here with this new dress on
And I think you might be the one
Bring it on

Chorus
