About This Song

I wrote this one with John Pierce. That's John on vocals.

I enjoyed this song Brent.  Good lyrics, I think the music was good but didn’t really make the lyrics stand out the way I hoped it would. John has a nice voice. Thanks for sharing

One thing that I like about your songs (and something that I like to do with many of my songs) is that use of internal rhymes. It makes even a slow song jump just a little bit more.

How’s It Feel To...

Written by Brent Baxter

Well, you got the last word
And made sure that the neighbors heard
Left the blame all on her
And drove away with your pride
You had to show her you were strong
And not admit you were wrong
Well, how’s it feel to be right

CHORUS
Oh, does it feel good
Like you swore that it would
Now that you’re alone tonight
How’s it feel to be right
How’s it feel to be right

Now there you are again
Half drunk and it’s 2am
Begging her to let you in
Flickering front porch light
All she says to you
Is “You said we were through
Well, how’s it feel to be right?”

CHORUS

Is finally being free
All that you thought it would be

CHORUS

How’s it feel to be right
How’s it feel to be right
