About This Song

Living in Hollywood and Topanga, Ca. I've seen a lot of Falling Stars over the years.
It's a hard reality that dreams take a great deal of work to come true. This song was a take on that theme. Once again the genere would probably be Alt-Country/Americana

Falling Star
By Ray William Roldan
Copyright:

I saw a falling star,
out behind a honky tonk bar
she was sleepin' in a broke down car
aneath them parkin' lot lights.

She said she had no song,
she wondered how it went so wrong
the road to fame was too damn long,
and nothin' felt right.

Bein' young and knowin' it all
well it ain't no fun when you begin to fall.
there's nothin' longer than the road back home
when your ridin' on a Greyhound all alone.
And every stranger wants to give advice
and some of them seem just a little too nice
Even paradise can feel like hell
when your longing for the sound of that dinner bell.

Now she was seventeen,
had a pretty boy and a need to be seen,
her mamas guitar and a Rock and Roll dream,
Said: lets hit that road and fly.

In her grand dads car,
they headed for that hony Tonk star,
but a tank of gas wont get you that far,
and Hell, she never said goodbye!

Bein' young and knowin' it all
well it aint no fun when you begin to fall.
there's nothin' longer than the road back home
when your ridin' on a Greyhound all alone.
And every strager wants to give advice
and some of them seem just a little too nice
Even paridise can feel like hell
when your longing for the sound of that dinner bell.

Instrumental:
Bein' young and knowin' it all
well it aint no fun when you begin to fall.
there's nothin' longer than the road back home
when your ridin' on a Greyhound all alone.
And every strager wants to give advice
and some of them seem just a little too nice
Even paridise can feel like hell
when your longing for the sound of that dinner bell.

I saw a falling star,
out behind a honky tonk bar,
she was leavin' in her grand dads car, mmmm!
