I like the thematic idea of being unworthy, and yet being loved in spite of that — to my way of thinking, a very powerful emotional “trigger” — it seems to me that EVERYBODY wants to be loved IN SPITE of their most obvious shortcomings.

Frank, once again, thanks for the feedback/input/listen—on all of my songs, I’m doing everything (singing and playing)—I figure I can sing ok for demos, but would NEVER release a CD with myself on vocals (smoked cigarettes for 30+ years, quit 15 years ago)—I DO appreciate listens and inputs! Thanks again!

Whoa! I loved the chords following the 2nd chorus and the 2nd verse, “The past…” it definitely turned my head, as I backed up the cycle and played it again - really nice!

Jack, thanks for the compliments and the listen—glad that you liked it—you know, if you keep complimenting me, I may end up asking you if you want to co-write—or at least buy you a CANDY BAR—HA!!! (I know, I have an odd sense of humor)—anyway, it’s nice when the folks here (who you think are really pretty decent songwriters) are complimentary toward your songs. As soon as I get a new keyboard controller, I plan to do a bunch more recording, and then post a bunch more of my songs. And best wishes for all your songwriting endeavors!!!

CHORUS
Unworthy, I’m unworthy,
I’m not worth a single effort on your part,
Why you love me, From far above me,
I’m just glad I’m not unworthy in your heart,
VERSE
My sins are so uncounted, My righteousness a dream,
Your mercy so sufficient, Your goodness so supreme,
So often I get weary, So often I delay,
You put your arms around me when I say
CHORUS
Unworthy, I’m unworthy,
I’m not worth a single effort on your part,
Why you love me, From far above me,
I’m just glad I’m not unworthy in your heart,
VERSE
The past has simply vanished, The future not begun,
Today is all I’m granted, A moment lost or won,
And when the fighting’s ended, A glorious new day,
Then I’ll no longer feel the need to say
CHORUS
Unworthy, I’m unworthy,
I’m not worth a single effort on your part,
Why you love me, From far above me,
I’m just glad I’m not unworthy in your heart,
I’m just glad I’m not unworthy in your heart,

Hey Bob, great jazzy tune! I’m not really into Christian music, much too often the lyrics are just simple and cheese cliches, your lyric here is a bit different and more original. Good work, I think it would be worth to record it with a better singer. The piano intro is nice but maybe a little bit too long.
