That’s good stuff. That is a fresh up to date example of straight up country music right there. I could hear Ronnie singing that.

Thanks Matthew! I agree that it would fit Ronnie, so now I just need to convince him of that. Ha! Thanks for listening!

Nice tune - maybe a tad to plain.

I think this could get cut. I would probably shorten it a bit and make it more of a soulful/country song.

Hi Marvin,
When I was in NASI, one thing our coordinator told us, “Don’t bore us, get to the chorus.”  Your song kicks off with the chorus and it sounded great!  You’re dog-gone prolific, my friend.  I have yet to listen to one of your songs that I didn’t like!  Nice work!!!

Good solid chorus, nice hook, and it DOES sound like it would be a comfortable fit for Ronnie Dunn.

I Gotta agree on the Ronnie Dunn…that makes 3 folks who think that’s a go, now how do we get it to Ronnie, and Marvin are you in Nashville because if your not you oughta be

You lied to me, but I lied too
You said you’d love me forever
I said I’d get over you
You lied to me, but I lied too

My last night of waiting for you to come home
I even rehearsed what to say
My grip damn near breaking that silent cell phone
I cursed your name then prayed you're OK

You lied to me, but I lied too
You said you’d love me forever
I said I’d get over you
You lied to me, but I lied too

The guilt in your eyes when I asked where you'd been
Told me I’d never hear the truth
Just old alibis and excuses again
But I knew what I had to do

You lied to me, but I lied too
You said you’d love me forever
I said I’d get over you
You lied to me, but I lied too

I wanted to say babe let’s work this out
Where there's truth there's always hope
But you completely erased any feeling of doubt
To hold on or just let go

When you lied to me, but I lied too
You said you’d love me forever
I said I’d get over you
You lied to me, but I lied too
Baby you lied to me, but I lied too
