"I Was Meant For You", was the first truly happy and upbeat song that I have written. After its release, it very quickly became my most popular song around fans and new listeners for its catchy melodies and cliche love lyrics.
Spencer, I agree with Joey for sure. This song was one of the first I heard from you and it immediately engaged me. It allowed me to place you somewhat into a “genre” or “style”. It set some type context and expectation for me as I listened to your other music. I also don’t get cliche out of this song, but it is great to see it is becoming your must play song for the fans. That can never be a bad thing.

I’m glad your fans said what they did. Fans are always smarter than us. Do what they say, they’re usually right. When I listened, I found this to be extremely “accessible”. I wouldn’t call it cliche. This style is just as much “you” as is your other songs. it’s just a different side of you man. And I think you’ll find it may be easy to create one of these… but much harder to create 10 of them for a whole album. Prove me wrong!
