I like how you’ve shown us another side of your writing. This does sound commercial. Chorus is catchy and makes me want to go hang out with my pals at a bar.

I always find it hard to give feedback on these types of songs. I like it and it has some memorable qualities to it and I do like the rap part. It was kind of cool and made this song stand out a bit more from the typical party bar song you’d hear on the radio. With the hick-hop movement going on. It’s fitting and the timing is right I suppose.

Hope this helps.

Dennis, I can tell by reading between your lines this isn’t your favorite kind of song. No worries; it isn’t mine either, not by a long shot. . grin I was just attempting to be current, a challenge for someone like me who is a half century old. grin That said, thank you for listening and taking time out of your day to offer your thoughts. I do appreciate it.

Shimmy Town

(Verse 1)
The moon's comin' up; and it's time to throw down
Hey ol' buddy, why you layin' round? (alternate line: "Hey everybody, why you...")
Get your butt outta bed; run a comb through your head
Use your best "Smell Good," that's what I said

(Climb 1)
Grab a Red Bull; if you wanna hang
At the party spot Hall O' Fame

(Chorus 1)
Cause I know why the party people go
Way down yonder, past Bootleg Road
Some folks claim it'll turn your life around
When you party down, when you party down
Down at Shimmy Town

(Verse 2)
Bikers to my right; Hillbillies to my left
Country boys in the middle, including myself
Hey bartender, "man, it's dang sho' hot
Another cold beer'd really hit the spot"

(Climb 2)
He say's, "five more minutes to the main stage show
Now, you don't wanna go... right now... cause"

("Rap")
Here comes Lacy in her high heel boots
And Candy's lookin' dandy, in her cut-off Daisy Duke's
How 'bout Dawn in that neon yellow thong
She knows how to work it, when they play her favorite song
Now here's a different flavor, one I know you're gonna savor
Lord-a-Mercy, neighbor! give it up for Taylor
Wearin' red lipstick and what'er Mama gave'er
What'er Mama gave'er
What'er-Mama-gave'er

(Chorus 2)

(Guitar Solo)

(Chorus 3)

(Chorus 4)

Down at Shimmy Town
Down at Shimmy Town
Down at Shimmy Town
Down at Shimmy Town
