Tried to write a song about joy and came up with this.

What a whirlwind we were in,
I felt like dancing down the street.
Had a smile I couldn’t hide,
Lasting more than just a week.
We both jumped around with joy,
Hearts too full to second‑guess
The day we learned the news,
The day you told me you were pregnant.
Welcome to my year
Of ordinary joy
Nothings going wrong
Cause we got a baby boy
Soft coo‑greeting, and
First‑smile beaming,
Not sure I knew what it meant
When I signed up for this
But they call it : Domestic bliss
The memories on my phone
Have filters you can choose
A little crap here and there,
Different colors you can use.
But real life brings the joy,
When the living room’s a wreck.
We look back and laugh at it all,
’Cause somehow life turned perfect.
Welcome to my year
Of ordinary joy
Nothings going wrong
Cause we got a baby boy
Soft coo‑greeting, and
First‑smile beaming,
Not sure I knew what it meant
When I signed up for this
But they call it : Domestic bliss
Endless rocking,
tiny fists boxing
Spit‑up showers,
power‑nap hours
Pacifier hunting,
Laundry mountains,
Toy‑pile creeping,
hardly ever sleeping
Stroller toting,
chaos unfolding
Welcome to my year
Of ordinary joy
Nothings going wrong
Cause we got a baby boy
Soft coo‑greeting, and
First‑smile beaming,
Not sure I knew what it meant
When I signed up for this
But they call it : Domestic bliss
Yeah they call it
Domestic bliss
La la la la
