Same story as the other version of the song on Frettie, with different lyrical and structural treatment. I frankly prefer this version from a listening perspective, but the story may be clearer in the other version.
I'm open to hearing any thoughts about either version, or about anything at all including your theory on the airspeed velocity of an unladen African Swallow. ![]()

Just before dawn on a Saturday morning
There's dew on my windshield
The smell of spring is thick in the air
Time to make this old dream real
They say red in the morning sailor take warning
Well I really just don't care
You know its time to go grab what life's got to give me
Son, I'm gonna find her out there
And I'm on my way yeayea
Yes I'm on my way yeayea
At a beachside bar I'm playin guitar
And singing my favorite song
The sun's sinkin low and a heavenly sea breeze
Is dancing with those lazy palms
A beautiful shadow stretches from the horizon
Everything is gonna be alright
Toward me she moves, the sun sett'n behind her
Red at night it's a sailor's delight
And I'm on my way yeayea
Yes I'm on my way yeayea
On my way to find myself
Somewhere out on this long road
On my way to find her too
The other half of my whole soul
Why it took me so long I guess I'll never know
We all have our doubts and fears
If I'da known she was right here waiting for me
I coulda loved her for all 'o these years
And I'm on my way yeayea
Yes I'm on my way yeayea
On my way I found myself
Always been here out on this road
On my way I found her too
The other half of my whole soul
Now we're on our way yeayea
Yes we're on our way yeayea
Gladly on our way yeayea
Finally on our way yeayea
