About This Song

Co Written with Will Gunnell. It has been over four years in the making and was inspired by little brother, who we lost in 2020 to a OD. I started this shortly after that and decided to give him a happier ending via song. Thanks to Will for helping

Feedback Requested

Always welcome constructive feedback.
Again…our original lyrics, set to AI generated melody and vocal. Still working on style for this. Have a male vocal version with more uptempo melody also.

It FIGURES now. I don’t know Will Gunnell but I’ve heard his stuff on other sites. That kind of explains the excellent production of your songs. I liked the song…

The Loudest Whisper

Written by Tray Price

rr 2024
Co-wrtten with W. Gunnell

Alone off a countryside road
Parked out of sight
A fifth of apathy in his left hand
His last breath in his right

His thoughts had gotten tangled
Couldn’t keep those demons down
Lost everything and everyone
Burned his bridges to the ground

He felt his hold get tighter
‘Round the cold grip of the gun
The dark rear view reflection
Showed the man that he’d become

Hanging from the mirror
He saw his grandads cross
Then he heard a whisper
Saying “all is not lost”

Son I’ve seen your burdens,
it’s time to lay them down
I've been right here waiting
til you were ready to reach out
Call out my name’n know that I hear
You may not see me, but Im always near
His weary heart clung to every word
That was the loudest whisper he ever heard

Stumbling out of his truck’n
Collapsing to his knees
Gazing to the moonlit sky
Searching for some peace

Praying for forgiveness
For all the damage and the wrong
Then he heard a whisper
Saying “You are not alone”

Son I’ve seen your burdens,
it’s time to lay them down
I've been right here waiting
til you were ready to reach out
Call out my name’n know that I hear
You may not see me, but Im always near
His weary heart clung to every word
That was the loudest whisper he ever heard

Sitting in a church pew
For the first time in his life
His grandads cross in his left hand
And a bible in his right
