About This Song

Demo for my new song, "Windows Are For Waiting". The demo was produced by my friend Blake Mohler with vocals by Suzanne Mohler.

Feedback Requested

I am always interested in feedback...the good, the bad, and the ugly. I've had plenty of each (mostly the bad and ugly).

Hey Allan,

This is a good lyric full of imagery. I want to point out something that made me go ????????????. On V1 you say “tire awing you hung for me” which immediately gave me the impression of this being about a parent or grandparent etc, then you mention “anything for us to be kissing there now”  two lines after that.  The rest of the song its clear its a love interest but IMO, that may need cleared up and reworded a bit good sir ????

When I wrote it I thought about a husband/boyfiend hanging the swing on their tree in the front yard, but I can certainly see why you might think of it being hung by a parent/grandparent when the woman was a child, for example. Thanks for the feedback

Windows Are For Waiting

Written by Allan Rosensweig

WINDOWS ARE FOR WAITING
Words and music by Allan Rosensweig

It’s just a thin clear pane of glass
But through it I can still see the past
That field of dandelions where we sent wishes to the clouds
That tire swing you hung for me
In the shade of that strong willow tree
I’d give anything for us to be kissing there now

There’s half a million miles between us
But I can see your memory in the distance

Windows are for waiting (waiting)
And I’d wait here forever for you
Windows are for dreaming (dreaming)
And you’ve got me dreaming of that perfect view
Your truck is rolling up the drive
Blue eyes and that come kiss-me smile
You’re sweeping me up in your arms at night
Windows are for waiting (waiting)
And I’d wait for you forever by mine

That slow parade of seasons change
Summer ends I see the colors fade
Those same old sunsets I’ve seen every night from here

There’s a half a million miles between us
But my love is stronger than it ever was

Windows are for waiting (waiting)
And I’d wait here forever for you
Windows are for dreaming (dreaming)
And you got me dreaming of that perfect view
Your truck is rolling up the drive
Blue eyes and that come kiss-me smile
You’re sweeping me up in your arms at night
Windows are for waiting
And I’d wait for you forever by mine

Baby I know you’ll be back here as soon as you can
And you know exactly where I’ll be standing

Cause windows are for waiting (waiting)
And I’d wait here forever for you
Windows are for dreaming (dreaming)
And you got me dreaming of that perfect view
Your truck is rolling up the drive
Blue eyes and that come kiss-me smile
You’re sweeping me up in your arms at night
Windows are for waiting
And I’d wait for you forever by mine
