About This Song

This song is an older song of mine. It has spiritual undertones, talking about waiting for change and our frustrated inability to do anything about it. The bomb shell section reflects sleepless nights thinking of such changes.

Feedback Requested

This is one of 7 songs that I recorded in a 12 hour slot of time. I play all parts, except the percussion. I never got any true feedback on this song or the others. Any unbiased constructive thoughts, in the chance I revisit this song again someday?

Hi Christopher

Great vocals - great arrangement and guitar work!  I’m not as keen on the lyrics - they seem kind of disjointed to me - and the “inner child” reference is kind of a clunker for me - but mainly I’m not sure if you’re saying that you’ve FOUND a place where you belong or that you are stuck in a place where you don’t belong - both sentiments seem to have been conveyed in the verses. the music is very positive and forward looking (to me) - so the last lines (please god help us get out) kind of work against that for me.

Great guitar and vocals.  Really having trouble following the lyrics and what they’re referring to.  To me this place your in is not a good one.  Sounds like a person in turmoil.

And I've waited like a candle, for you to light my way, my way,
suffocation, that I can handle, but it's life that giving me pain, me pain,

It's a symbol, of my inner child, my desire to leave this place, this place,
and it came down, like a bomb shell and blasted up in my face, my face,
-and it blasted up in my face,

skies of sun and clouds be gone, I don't want no one to sing to,
this is a place that I find myself, my self,

where a rights a right, a wrongs a wrong,
and Im not patronized for singing along, leave my inhibitions up on the shelf the shelf,
-leave my inhibitions on the shelf,

**bombshells blasting in my head there like a shot in the night, (repeat)

Well I can't fight the weather, when the rain is coming down,
I can't mend a broken heart, or change it all around,

I've been here forever, with it all collapsing now, please God help us get out,
Please God help us change now,
