About This Song

This song is about an old club, bar, honky tonk that you used to party at in your younger days that is currently closed, but still holds those memories.

Uncle Brent ...

Nice groove and lyric details. Cool rhythm on the BR transitioning to the CH.  I can’t dance but I’d want to hear this song at my favorite bar! Thanks, Brent

Just some old weathered boards on the side of the road, with an OPEN light, that used to glow and buzz all night, like us on those Miller Lights
Just an empty parking lot, with faded white lines, my trucks been parked there a thousand times, under the moon light, I miss all those crazy nights-back when
Chorus
The place was jumping, a full parking lot, the beer was ice cold and the girls where hot
The music was loud and they always had a party crowd.
Ya the band would Jam to a packed dance floor, at 2 a.m. we’d shout one more slow song, so I could hold on to this girl no longer around like this neon rundown
Verse II
Just some faded black letters on that old marque, like the wheel of fortune on T.V.
It was missing an E-S and M- for that party band Swinging Medallions – back when
Chorus
Lead
Bridge
Well I sure do miss that rundown place and those waffle house nights where we all ate
scattered, smothered, covered-all the way
like I went with that girl in my Chevrolet-back when
Chorus
The place was jumping a full parking lot, the beer was ice cold and the girls where ho
The music was loud and they always had a party crowd.
Ya the band would Jam to a packed dance floor, at 2 a.m. We’d shout one more slow song
So I could hold on, to this girl who’s no longer around Tag
I’m still holding on to her and these memories on the ground of this neon rundown
