Everyone's familiar with saving money for a rainy day. The thought occurred to me that it would be neat to save love in a similar fashion.
The part of the song I am most uncomfortable with is the bridge...wondering if that works musically and lyrically. Also not sure about repeating the opening verse after the bridge. Didn't want to water the song down with more ideas and I think that verse is strong, but would like to know if that works.

Today I loved you well like I should do every day
Everything I had inside I freely gave away
I set aside the selfish little boy that I so often am
And for a change today I loved you like a real man
But for the days I don’t quite do it that way
Please take a little of that love and save it for a rainy day
I know I don’t always love you like I did just now
There are simply times when I don’t know how
So remember the moments when I do get it right
Because that’s how I’d like to love you all the time
But for the days I don’t quite do it that way
Please take a little of that love and save it for a rainy day
It will rain, it will rain
I will cause you pain
I will shine, I will shine
And love you well again
Today I loved you well like I should do every day
Everything I had inside I freely gave away
I set aside the selfish little boy that I so often am
And for a change today I loved you like a real man
But for the days I don’t quite do it that way
Please take a little of that love and save it for a rainy day
