LOOK BUSY
Back in 8th grade in Miss Hartmann’s class, must have been English two
She walking round looking for a volunteer, something I didn’t like to do
She gave me a look as I stared at my book, then went on to another kid
I don’t recall what it was I got out of, only know I’m glad I did
LOOK BUSY, all you’ve got to do is try
Make believe that what you’re doing’s by grand design
You’ve got to give the impression you haven’t got the time
LOOK BUSY and things will work out fine
I was sitting in my office chair when the boss man started to speak
“Listen, people I need someone to work late” then he shot a quick glance at me
I was mostly caught up but my big pile of stuff came in handy right then
He found somebody else instead of myself, I was off the hook again

With a little ingenuity, you’ll do yourself proud
