About This Song

I am very nostalgic. There are people who have come and gone in my life, and I often wonder what life would be like if they were still in it. This song also won 2019 Best Original Song at the Mississippi Music Awards.

This is a great song, and I can see why it won a contest. That chorus melody is really good, and really modern sounding. The lead vocalist (assuming it’s you) is really, really good. I like the what ifs/nothing rhyme. I’m surprised that you haven’t done a full band demo of this. Not that this guitar vocal demo isn’t good, but it seems like it wouldn’t be that expensive to have someone make a professional demo and just add your vocal track and maybe a harmony part for the chorus. Anyway, I’ve listened to a LOT of songs on here, and I can’t think of a better, more radio ready sounding one I’ve heard than this one. Good luck with it, and thanks for sharing.

Nice, unadorned - just vocal and guitar - if you relate to it, that’s all you need! I relate.

My Favorite Memory

Written by Jodie Ross

“My Favorite Memory” - Jodie Ross

Verse 1
Driving down memory lane
Looking in the rearview
But they say
Don’t look that way
There’s nothing you can undo

Chorus
But I’m set on cruise
Cause I’m missing you
And thinking of what we could be
You’re everywhere I go
You’re in everything I see
You’re my favorite memory

Verse 2
I often wonder why I put myself through this
I get caught up on what ifs
But I’d rather feel the pain of your memory
Than feel nothing, nothing

Chorus
But I’m set on cruise
Cause I’m missing you
And thinking of what we could be
You’re everywhere I go
You’re in everything I see
You’re my favorite memory

Bridge
You can’t rewrite the past
History is set in stone
They say what you don’t know won’t hurt you
Well, I can tell you that’s wrong

Chorus
But I’m set on cruise
Cause I’m missing you
And thinking of what we could be
You’re everywhere I go
You’re in everything I see
You’re my favorite memory
