About This Song

This song is the classic unrequited love, broken heart story, set in a lonely hotel after finding out you'd been cheated on.

Feedback Requested

General structure of song, do you think the piano and sax work together, do you think it needs backing vocals?

The music held me.  Great vibe!  Seems like a ‘movie’ background song.  To me it wasn’t about the lyric - LOVED the music.

Thin Black Ice

Written by Greg Were

Thin Black Ice

Suzi it’s cold tonight,
We’re skating on thin black ice,
I’m pulling down misty eyes,
To see your untruths.

Room service is slow tonight,
Only the beer is light,
I’m holding a heavy heart,
And crying for two.

It’s all just a sad, sad shame,
Never thought it would go this way,
My eyes are now sore and strained, from seeing through you.

I must have been so blind,
To not see what was on your mind,
Got lost and so entwined,
Entangled with you.

I’m alone with my warm mulled wine,
Understanding that loves no crime,
Not sure why I couldn’t find,
What you always knew.

It’s all just a sad, sad shame,
Never thought it would go this way,
My eyes are now sore and strained from seeing through you.
