About This Song

Song explores the depth of forgiveness that is required in the World we live to the point of undoing of the culture of brutal attacks on people as an escape from the hard emotional work of forgiveness. It is not condoning nor ignore consequences, just focusing on the value for bully, victim and middle ground for doing the hard emotional work of forgiveness.

The Unforgiven

Written by Greg Were

The Unforgiven

The breeze blows just as even, for the wicked and the strong,
Carries that wooden sailboat, as it cuts through right and wrong.
Like a leaf floating in a gentle stream,
Or the homeless lost in drunken dreams,
There’s a message for here us all and for the unforgiven.

The gate will crash on pickets, in a skittish howling wind,
No one takes out to the ocean, when there’s whitecaps to be seen,
But as the girls slinks fearfully to her bed,
And bows down to fabours she must bend,
No one knows the truth more keenly, than the unforgiven.

The unforgiven, the unforgiven,
But as the girls slinks fearfully to her bed,
And bows down to favours she must bend,
No one knows the truth more keenly, than the unforgiven.

There’s a gremlin in the tower rats run freely ‘round the house
The truth has been so vacant in the face of passing clouds,
We don’t always need to look away,
When the question once at leasts been raised,
Every night I say my prayers now for the unforgiven.

The unforgiven, the unforgiven.
We don’t always need to look away,
When the question once at leasts been raised,
Every night I say my prayers now for the Unforgiven.
