AFTER ALL THIS TIME © 2015 Jim Green
I was looking back at how it all began
You were my girl I tried to be your man
Times were tough, money was thin
But somehow together, I'd knew we would win
I've been dumb and we had to rebound
I've sent us up, I've sent us down
I've said things I never meant to
Still look right here, beside me is you
The sun rises on another day
You in my arms, I’d have no other way
Your wish is my loving command
With your love I am a stronger man
Our first years of eating burned meals
Singing songs and kicking up our heels
Yeah it was work, but we had fun
Funny looking back at all the things we've done
If I were asked would I do it all again
I wouldn't hesitate I'd say count me in
I love seeing your hand laced in mine.
and here we are
after all this time
We always had dreams and hopes for our lives
You chose best roads when we came to Ys
Raised two perfect kids If I have to say
We're so proud at the end of each day
Looking at sunsets or a day in the park
We are happy no matter where we are
On the couch watching trashy TV
anything is fine as long as you're with me
The sun rises on another day
You in my arms, I’d have no other way
Your wish is my loving command
With your love I am a stronger man
CHORUS
CHORUS (you bet your ass, I'd say count me in)
after all this time
