Flying across country, I got an earful about religion from a lady next to me. All I could thing about was how many other people in the world needed her prayers more than me.

Say a prayer that tomorrow turns out better than today
Say a prayer for bright, blue skies
Say a prayer for all the soldiers living in harm’s way
Pray for peaceful times
Say a prayer for the children who haven’t got a prayer
Pray for all the little things
Pray for anyone you want
But please don’t pray for me
Cause I’m alright
Say a prayer for the driver who ran you off the road
Pray he burns in hell
Say a prayer for Detroit ‘cause she really needs our help
And pray for the Cav-a-liers
Say a prayer for John and George, I really miss those guys
Pray for three-part harmonies
Pray for someone if you must
But pleased don’t pray for me
Cause I’m alright
Thanks for thinking of my salvation
I know you must have better things to do
Every time you try to save my heart (3X)
I let go
Say a prayer for all the good and decent folks you know
Say a prayer they stay that way
Say a prayer for Mr and Mrs Great American Dream
Where are you today
Say a prayer for growing old together in love
And say a prayer for healthy teeth
Pray for everyone you know
But please don’t pray for me
Cause I’m alright
Thanks for thinking of my salvation
I know you must have better things to do
Every time you try to save my heart (3X)
I let go
I let go
I let go
