I wrote this with Jason Wilkes and Mark Narmore. Vocals by Jason Wilkes.
Hey, Larry! Yep, it DOES sound very rock. And that’s on purpose. That’s the lane we’re going for- the more progressive country-rock artist. We figured with a title like “Amplifier,” you gotta rock out!

Roll up to your car
Right on time, and there you are
Looking like a rock star
Leaning on your fender
You climb in and off we go
You hijack my radio
Playing DJ from your phone
Dialing up a night to remember
CHORUS
You make the moon shine down brighter
You make the highs rise up higher
You make my smile a half mile wider
Baby, you’re my amplifier
You take hot and set it on fire
You take my want and make it desire
Turn one kiss to an all nighter
Baby, you’re my amplifier
From parking lot to parking lot
Dairy Queen to the barber shop
You crank this cruise up another notch
And every body ‘round here knows it
‘Cuz you make this round-and-round
Slow parade with the windows down
Into the Vegas strip of our hometown
When you’re glowin’ like you’re glowin’
CHORUS

“You make the moon shine down brighter” confused me.
Best line was “Into the Vegas strip of our hometown.”
Sounds a lot more rock than country. Maybe adding some fiddle or banjo would help for a more country feel.
Also, maybe word changes from “Rock Star” to “Country Star” or “Vegas strip to Nashville Strip could help put listeners in a country mindset.
