About This Song

This is a song I wrote about how there are many different aspects to country music. How your definition of what you like country to be might be different than someone else! This song was sleepily recorded via my cell phone at 6am this morning before work. Sorry if its missing any pzazz.

Would love help with the melody, and to clean the lyrics up a bit. Perhaps they're too wordy?

Hi Sandra,

Great song as I already mentioned to you, and sent you an idea for the chorus as far as making the harmony a bit more interesting.

I love your writing, singing, lyrics, the way you are able to develop such deep and meaningful lyrics and surround them in a cotton cloud of musical beauty with your world class musicians!

I’ve already told you how much I LOVE “Summer Evenings,” and I mean every one of the 5 songs. https://sandralyerly.com/album for anyone interested in hearing what I’m talking about, and no, I have no vested interest in her songs.

I am now getting into, “If Only,” and loving the songs on it too! https://slowcreekband.com/music

I would definitely get your hit squad of super musicians focused on developing “Country Music Ain’t Goin’ Away,”  with you, because I think it’s a great song, great message, with huge potential.

Country Music Aint Going Away

Written by Sandra Lynn

They say country music aint what it used to be
It all sounds the same with those artificial beats
Stories told by legends on an old Gibson guitar
Are now computerized and only sung by teenage stars

But theres something bout a song that reminds you of your hometown
Sixteen and driving after school, with the windows down
Everybody has stopped at least once on that old time station
Its why country music means something to every generation

Chorus:
Where were you…. the first time when you cranked that dial up
When you heard a song…. That made the tears from your broken heart dry up
Was it Garth, was it Cash, the banjos of Scruggs and Flatt
Wagon Wheel, Shania Twain whatever you like its all okay
Cause country music, oh country music, aint going away

I remember the first time I was told to turn it off
You’re giving us a headache can’t don’t you just go play in the yard
My parents shook their heads but it was heaven to me
My music wasn’t what they thought that country should be
