Hey Jeff!!

I can tell that this song is really close to your heart. I really love the melody line and the vocals and harmonies really help flesh everything out. I did find myself a little bit lost as far as content. The sense of longing and that ache really came through, but the specifics were a little fuzzy. You could go either way, but that’s totally up to you. Really special man. Keep going!! ❤️

Mariel, hello!! Thank you for the kind thoughts and feedback. Yes, I’m aware that the message is a bit confusing. I’m not quite sure how to fix it, but I think I may be able to change a few lines in the second verse and make it better. Hey, I think we al know songs that we never quite understood the meaning, but loved them anyway. I admire your work very much, keep up the great stuff! ❤️

Hi Jeff,
I love all your songs. So well composed and produced! I think Mariel is right, the lyric is a bit vague. I’m sure you know exactly what you are singing about, but we as a listener don’t have all these information you have.

Here I sit, beside myself again, wondering what went wrong,
Thinkin' 'bout how it's always been, it's just me who writes the songs

Looking back on what we had, having known it all the time,
We unlock the future with every right we wrong, can I find the words that rhyme

How Long, baby this road we're on
Will it ever end, does it ever end
How Long, baby this road we're on
Will it ever end, does it, does it ever end

Where I go, I know the world won't tell me, we all write the book,
In my life, the forces that compel me, make me stop and look

At the faces of the people in my life, longing for who we were before,
The chains of yesterday might set us free tomorrow, tell me, can I ask for more

How Long, baby this road we're on
Will it ever end, does it ever end
How Long, baby this road we're on
Will it ever end, does it, does it ever end
