Cold water for the face of those in love with the wrong person...
Any feedback. particularly interested in feedback on pitching to country artists.
Thanks for your thoughts, Ironically the original version was even more poppy and I make the music more “serious”, but maybe can go further.

STRENGTH TO CHANGE
or (GIVE ME THE STRENGTH)
by HappyRon
Tempo 95
Your lies drove me way to far from home
Had to go down another road
and now that I am here
dancing with my fears
I'm better off going it alone
I have the strength to change what I need to change (GIVE ME)
And the courage to know you'll always be the same (AND GIVE ME)
And one thing I can change is me...
I've fought to find my heart another place
Like splashing cold water on my face
When you went back on your word
The truth became blurred
But now I see a different kind of grace
REPEAT CHORUS
I'll ignore what you say
And remember what you do
God saved (save) me from my faith in you...
REPEAT CHORUS

Hey Ron!
I really enjoyed the groove that you have in this song and the simplicity of your delivery. This is just me, but I read the lyrics first before listening to it and it feels as though the melody is in conflict with the words. The words convey a lot of grief and the music is kind of happy go lucky. I was just expecting something a little more in keeping with the feel. However, I really love the words and the message you are getting across. Keep going!
