About This Song

I played a show with my friend the "Loafing Hero" in Berlin. A rugby team came in the pub, found out he was Irish, and ruined his set of originals by demanding Irish ballads. It was rough, but you gotta keep on going, and that's what this is about.

Daniel, Thanks for sharing this. Very catchy and what a story. Always play on right? I really like the chorus and how you sing it higher. It’s really cool and fits the song’s tone nicely.

I like this, a nice story and a “want to sing chorus”!

Hi Daniel…been there and done it with the not-so-friendly crowds. You’re right, you gotta play on. Really like the song. Good story and like others have said before me, I love the vocal change-up in the chorus. Good job and thanks for sharing the tale.

Impossible to keep that melody out of your head after listening. The story, in and of itself, is genuine… anybody who plays knows what that feeling’s like. But, when you add it to such a feel-good tune, it becomes a real moment, though maybe not identical to something the listener has seen first hand, that’s still familiar and knowable. I loved it the first time I heard it live. Doesn’t get old.
