I was in line and saw this girl. Thought it was her. First song written on ukulele!
Does this remind you of time you think you saw someone you once knew?
Joey,
You always amaze me with your music. To answer your question… yes this song captures the essence of experience that feeling of knowing someone but can’t figure out from where. I absolutely love the transition to “But I swear I saw your face… its really nice. It draws me into the chorus and becomes very catchy. NIce job!

Joey,
I love this. Great melody - and now I can’t imagine it with any other instrument but the uke. (Although I could envision an orchestra in parts - that’s just me). I could interpret it the way you suggested. However, I felt that it could be a song about losing someone (probably a mom) that you loved and are having trouble accepting the loss.

Joey,
You can just flat out pump out great songs man. Excellent craftsmanship, it all fits nicely. Most of these things are instinctive for you probably but you know how to make sentence structure and phrasing completely paralleled and a-symmetrical simultaniously with your melody lines, it all just works and cooperates together perfectly. That’s my musical OCD kicking in by the way. You’ve been doing this a long time and it really really shows.
I loved the sort of interrelated laundry list of details, “I swear I know that dress” “static on TV” which all fits since your “seeing things” obviously. It’s such a descriptive song and each detail is just another opportunity for you to connect to your listener, the first thing people latch on to is imagery, especially imagery they also see on a fairly regular basis like things lying around the house like T.V.‘s mirrors and clothing etc. It’s a great song with some potential sir, I’d like to hear it with some production work. Job well done.

Hahahah! Like JT above so aptly put it : You just pump out great songs! I laughed out loud when I read that cause it’s so true. Fun fact: This is the first non-overly-cheery song I’ve ever heard on the ukelele, so that was a nice surprise when first tuning in.
I love it! Like, really. The melody and chords underneath are fantastic.
I tried writing out more constructive comments like 3 times already, but really, I got nothing. Love it. ![]()

Last night, you said "hello" to me.
I tried, but I couldn’t speak.
The way you moved, around my room
Now you’re a mystery.
But last night, you smiled and looked at me.
Or maybe I’ve been seeing things
Since you’ve been gone, I could be wrong…
But I swear I saw your face.
And I think I heard your voice.
Were you next to me, or in my dreams
Or am I seeing things?
Cause I swear I know that dress.
And I think I’m still you’re boy in another life.
Or am I… am I seeing things?
Last night, I came home to a lie.
I looked in the mirror, wondered why?
I say “I’ve moved on” but you all know that I’m still trying.
Last night, I came home in defeat.
Sat and watched the static on TV.
They say you’re gone
And I could be wrong…
But I swear I saw your face.
And I think I heard your voice.
Was it just a memory?
Am I seeing things?
Or were you next to me?
Cause I swear I know that dress.
And I think I’m still you’re boy in another life.
Or am I… am I seeing things?
Cause I swear I saw your face.
And I think I heard your voice.
And I think I know that dress.
And I think I’m still your boy.
Last night you said hello to me.
Or am I, am I seeing things?
