About This Song

A phone call to someone just to let them know how much you are missing them, but the heart melting surprise is in the second verse.

I am a parent of three young ones and I will be experiencing this too soon. Thank you for reminding me that I better enjoy my kids while they are still living with me. A beautiful song.

Nice sweet touching lyrics—though I do think the lyrics would have seemed more affecting if the musical arrangement weren’t quite so lush (would have preferred a little more musical “sparseness” to go with the lyric sense of “inevitable loss”)—a little more George Jones, a little less Bobby Goldsboro.

Missing You Today

Written by Marvin Adcock

You know it seems like yesterday
When you needed me for everything
And often I still like to replay
All my fav'rite memories
Even ones I like the least
I just called to say I'm missin' you today

I've been missin' you today
And all those moments that you made
I pray you're okay, warm and safe
I just called to say I'm missin' you today

You say I shouldn't worry about you
But I guess I will 'til I'm through
That's a father's right to do
But you gotta' have your growin' space
A lot less of this old face
I just called to say I'm missin' you today

I've been missin' you today
And all those moments that you made
I pray you're okay, warm and safe
I just called to say I'm missin' you today

I pray you're okay, warm and safe
I just called to say I'm missin' you today
