About This Song

BABY, COME HOME (written by Jack Speer, produced and sung by Tim Buppert):

This came from no particular inspiration, accept that I’ve thought about the numerous times I’ve driven for miles (while tunes roll through my head), without being aware of where I’ve been.

nice flow, very smooth voice.  One line I thought might could be improved on….Can’t stop my brain from thinking”...I might try…can’t remove you no matter what I’m thinking”.

Hi Jack,
the song has a good flow, but in this case in my opinion that is not enough. I miss a bridge or a solo part that wakes us up a little bit. The same applies to the lyrics. This topic has been sung about so often and I miss something here that makes me curious. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad song, but for me it doesn’t stand out in any perspective. Keep on!

BABY, COME HOME

Written by Jack Speer

IT’S LIKE THE TV’S ON WITH THE SOUND TURNED OFF,
SINCE YOU’VE BEEN GONE, GIRL, I’VE BEEN LOST,
I GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS, BUT NOTHIN’ MAKES SENSE.

I DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD IN THIS FUNK I’M IN,
DON’T KNOW WHERE I’M GOIN’ OR WHERE I’VE BEEN,
OBSESSED WITH THE HOPE OF ONE MORE CHANCE.

I NEVER THOUGHT YOU’D BE LEAVIN’
NEVER THOUGHT I’D BE GRIEVIN’
I COULDN’T UNDERSTAND, TIL YOU MOVED ON,
THEN IT CAME TO LIGHT IN A NEW YORK MINUTE,
TO LIVE MY LIFE I NEED YOU IN IT,
I’LL DIE A BROKEN MAN IF YOU STAY GONE,
OH, BABY, COME HOME,
COME HOME.

YOU’RE EVERY IMAGE I SEE, EVERY SONG THAT’S SUNG,
THE TOUCH ON MY SKIN, THE TASTE ON MY TONGUE,
ALL MY SENSES FEED ON YOU.

I’LL RIGHT THE WRONGS THAT FILL OUR PAST,
SHOWER YOU WITH LOVE YOU SHOULD’VE HAD,
THERE’S SO MUCH I WANT TO PROVE.

I CAN’T STOP THE PAIN DESPITE MY DRINKIN’
TURN OFF MY BRAIN FROM THINKIN’
OF THE TIME AND TIME AGAIN, I DID YOU WRONG,
IT CAME TO LIGHT IN A NEW YORK MINUTE,
THE REST OF MY LIFE NEEDS YOU TO BEGIN IT,
I’LL DIE A BROKEN MAN IF YOU STAY GONE.
OH, BABY, COME HOME,
OH, COME HOME,

THE TV’S ON WITH THE SOUND TURNED OFF,
SINCE YOU’VE BEEN GONE, I’VE BEEN LOST,
I DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD, DON’T KNOW WHERE I AM,
WHERE I’M GOIN’ OR WHERE I’VE BEEN,

THE TV’S ON WITH THE SOUND TURNED OFF,
SINCE YOU’VE BEEN GONE, I’VE BEEN LOST,
I DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD, DON’T KKOW WHERE I AM,
WHERE I’M GOIN’ OR WHERE I’VE BEEN,
