Lyrics and Melody by: Haydee Ahrens
I admit at the outset that this was 100 percent inspired by Shania Twain stylistically. An ode to men who stay with their wives through the messiness of it all and accept us the way we are.
Obviously this needs more content, it is too short. Some have said it is too much on the uptempo side and that I should slow it down. Is the meaning clear? It is also acapella and it needs to be redone with a backing track. Any additional input is greatly appreciated, this is definitely an unfinished track and it needs work.
Thank you so much, really, but I didn’t sing it, Elise Palmer from the UK did. I wish. I wrote the lyrics and composed the melody, she took it from there. She is AMAZING. I put her name on the lyrics to credit her performance, but from now on I will post it in the “About This Song” area so there is no confusion. I am so glad you liked this song, people need to start recognizing and appreciating the many honorable, strong, and kind men out there, the ones who go out of their way to take care of others.

That is really good work, well written and an incredible good performance. I think it’s worth to invest some money into a full demo with an R&B feel to it. A well produced demo will push the song like a rocket.

Thank you Mr. Renfordt, I really appreciate your feedback. It really needs a proper demo and maybe a little more content. I still don’t know where to go for demos. Hopefully I will find a good place someday that won’t break the bank.

Its nice to hear a song from a woman where a guy isn’t perfect and the woman still stands by him and they work though imperfect times. These type of songs are harder to write and that’s why there are so few out there. Nice job.

This Ring
Performed by: Elise Palmer
Written by: Haydee Ahrens
When I was deep down
At my lowest,
You didn’t walk away.
If I had choices
And no limits,
I’d choose you
Anytime, year, or day.
Chorus
Uh oh,
I’m so glad
That you’re my own
Uh oh
A strong place to stand
I’ll grow
Uh oh
A soft place to land
I know
Uh oh.
With you
I can be me.
They say we’re bound
But I feel
So free!
I may be settled
But not bored, yeah!
I feel awake
And alive,
He never stops
Until I’m happy,
He never stops until I’m satisfied.
Uh oh,
I’m so glad
That you’re my own
Uh oh
A strong place to stand
I’ll grow
Uh oh
A soft place to land
I know
Uh oh.
With you
I can be me.
They say we’re bound
But I feel
So free!
Bridge
And it’s so scary
But it’s thrillin’.
We fail almost everyday.
But I am sayin’ that I’m willin’
This ring
It’s saying that I’ll stay!
Uh- Oh—
Uh, oh, oh,
I’m so glad
That you’re my own
Uh oh
A strong place to stand
I’ll grow
Uh oh
A soft place to land
I know
Uh oh.
With you
I can be me.
They say we’re bound
But I feel
So free!

Wow, whata’ voice Haydee! Even though I had the lyrics in front of me on first listen, I was so like a deer in headlights over the control of the voice, that I had to listen a second time to make sure I got all the lyrics. With all the great songs currently out where the man confesses his love, or his “being blown away” by the woman, this is a nice refreshing idea to hear. Very well done! I’d love to hear it put to tracks.
