I remember the time in that restaurant
When I went down on one knee
You said yes, and everybody smiled
I wish someone had said to me
That time, you know, will pass quickly
So hold her hand and love her deeply
Kiss her softly every morning
And hold her close when night comes callin
Because one day...
All this will pass away
There were sunsets over football fields
Cold bleachers and warm hands
Special times and the stuff of everyday
Please listen and understand
That time, my friend, will pass quickly
So hold her hand and love her deeply
Kiss her softly every morning
And hold her close when night comes callin
Because one day....
All this will pass away
The years flew by like white lines on the road
You think you see round every bend
Mapped and planned, we figured out where we would go
But found ourselves at journey's end
She said
Time you know has passed quickly
I'm glad you chose to spend life with me
Loved how you held my hand this morning
And how you're here now my night's fallin
That was the day
That she passed away
