I've heard my whole life "don't talk to strangers." It's a lonely life when we remain closed off to others. Some of the best conversations of my life have been with people I had just met. Thought back through some of those moments and wrote this one.
Does the song stick with you even though it moves at a slower pace?

You stood right beside me
Didn't know me well
Told me all the hard things
That make you feel like hell
And they say we should shut our
mouths, fix our eyes, and just wait
But stories don't get told
People just grow lonely that way
So I'm listening to you
The way you want me to
Cause I've felt the same pain
I've felt the same way
And I think if it was me
You would do the same thing
Cause we're all just the same
Ain't no body without weight
Ain't no body without weight
Ain't no body without weight
She was about 17
And on her way somewhere
Said a boy was the reason
She was cryin at the top of the stairs
They say you shouldn't go over
You might tip over, lose your grip, and fail
But lately I've been bolder
Feeling like we should lift each other outta there
So I'm listening to you
The way you want me to
Cause I've felt the same pain
I've felt the same way
And I think if it was me
You would do the same thing
Cause we're all just the same
Ain't no body without weight
Ain't no body without weight
Ain't no body without weight

Hey Joey! Great message! I agree connecting with others is what helps us get through this life.
Here’s my opinion on the pace: Anytime you repeat the hook in a chorus that has an interesting melody, even when if it’s slower, it sticks with you. The pace is perfect for this song because it gives the listeners time to reflect and relate to your experience. It also pulls people into your imagery with your calming vibe. Thanks for sharing this! By the way…your guitar sounds amazing!!! What are you playing in this?
