I really like the catchy part in the chorus melody over the lyric swallow my pride and go on this ride. There’s only one line I’d look at as it confuses me a bit…that’s “I feel roaring winds watching out for your tide”. Just my opinion here. Thanks for sharing your song!

we've been best friends since elementary
ran from boys talked about everything
ever since our eyes have been set out on guys
I feel roaring winds watching out for your tide
oh, you have to get that one up on me
I'm feeling down
you don't know its mean
rivalry
I hate this rivalry

chorus
I'm gonna swa-a-a-a-low my pride
no, I don't want to go-o-o-o-oh on this ride
a smile on my face
this conversations done
I tell you that your great
I have to run
oh swa-a-a-a-low my pride
no, I don't want to go-o-o-o-oh on this ride
I hate rivalries

you say I'm stuck dating boys
you got a man and a diamond ring
life was so much better when we did not compete
I want the best for you more than anything
past memories haunt me
I need a friend can't you see
rivalry
I hate rivalry
