This song was written about the blues singer B B King after he died last year. The words also relate to past music legends who unfortunately are now longer with us.
HI Phillip, many thanks for your feedback. The `Yoda` comparison made me smile but I can see where you are coming from and will make changes if I decide to re-record the song.Another person`s opinion can be very enlightening at times, can`t it?

SITTING ON THE MOON
REMEMBER EVERY DAY WE DO
EACH CHORD FOR US YOU PLAYED
IN THOSE BYGONE DAYS
AS TO THE END WE STAYED
DO YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOU ENTERTAINED US ALL
WE WERE MESMERISED
BY SOMEONE TEN FEET TALL
SO ARE YOU SWINGING ON THE STARS
OR MAYBE SITTING ON THE MOON
ARE YOU IN THE WORLDS BEST EVER BAND
AS YOU WRITE US ANOTHER TUNE
HOW YOU CAPTURED ALL OF US WHEN YOU SANG YOUR SONG
HOW WE SHARED YOUR WORLD WITH YOU WHERE WE ALL BELONGED
SO ARE YOU SWINGING ON THE STARS
OR MAYBE SITTING ON THE MOON
ARE YOU IN THE WORLDS BEST EVER BAND
AS YOU WRITE US ANOTHER TUNE
(MID SECTION MUSIC)
REMEMBER EVERY DAY WE DO
EACH CHORD FOR US YOU PLAYED
IN THOSE BYGONE DAYS
AS TO THE END WE STAYED
DO YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOU ENTERTAINED US ALL
WE WHERE MESMERISED
BY SOMEONE TEN FEET TALL
SO ARE YOU SWINGING ON THE STARS
OR MAYBE SITTING ON THE MOON
ARE YOU IN THE WORLDS BEST EVER BAND
AS YOU WRITE US ANOTHER TUNE
HOW YOU CAPTURED ALL OF US WHEN YOU SANG YOUR SONG
HOW WE SHARED YOUR WORLD WITH YOU WHERE WE ALL BELONGED
AND ARE YOU LOOKING DOWN RIGHT NOW
WHILE YOU'RE SITTING ON THE MOON
ARE YOU IN THE WORLDS BEST EVER BAND
AS YOU WRITE US ANOTHER TUNE......(SOMEWHERE)

On the plus side, I like the idea of the song. I like the music and the chord progression… reminds me of Pink Floyd!
On the negative side, the first verse makes me think of Yoda and the way he would talk. It’s not how Gilmore would sing, and not “conversational” English. I don’t know if you were going for rhyme scheme or what, but it doesn’t work.
What if you sang it this way:
We remember every day
Each chord and note you played
In those golden days
When you left, we stayed
Do you know when you entertained us all
We were mesmerised
By someone ten feet tall
Are you swinging on the stars
Maybe sitting on the moon
Are you in the worlds best band
Writing us another tune
Anyway, you see where I’m going…
