This is how I imagine it would feel if I were cut loose from the weights that tether me to self-doubt.

This is an expression of my deep gratitude and pledge of support for the friends and family who offered me love, patience, grace, forgiveness, and inspiration.

This simple song encapsulates and honors the simple, sweet, unwavering love and respect I observed between my in-laws. It was a love-you-no-matter-what kind of love.

When I wrote these lyrics, I was showing support for anyone who has felt unheard, unseen, mistreated, pushed aside for being themselves, or God-forbid, open-minded, hardworking, honest, and kind.

Oddly enough, I wrote this song during a very dark (yet beautiful) time while I was sitting at my father's side 12 hours a day. I was sad every second of the day and running on fumes, but I smiled when I heard the music. So, I put words to it. It stemmed from something my husband told me: "Something only holds power over you if you let it."

I started writing lyrics and melodies a little over a year ago, and this was my very first one. This is still a scratch vocal, but I like its raw, imperfect feeling. I'm not sure if I'll do anything else with it.

This is the third song I have ever co-wrote. It is a scratch vocal and not perfect. Someday, I will hire a vocalist and clean it up.
