Hi Sarah. I listened to your song several times and it just kept growing on me. I like it both musically and lyrically. You’ve got a great talent for saying things in very few words.

Now for this song, I originally thought that the words “Watch Me” were mentioned too many times in the song - taking away from the strength of the hook of them. But as I said earlier, everything kinda grew on me. I personally thought the phrase and accompanying melody to “Say Waatcha Say” was a very strong leading hook - maybe even stronger or memorable than “Watch Me”.

But I like the song overall. Hope the input helps. Good luck with it!

Sarah,

I really like this. It has a great groove, great hook, and all your lyrics seem to be carefully crafted to prove/support your hook. That’s just good songwriting. I like the production, too.

Watch Me
Sarah Motes Ashley 2015

say whatcha say
watch me do it anyway
say whatcha say
then watch me

V1
two kids, two jobs
gonna finish that degree
they say she can't do it
she says "watch me"
little girl, big guitar
young is all they see
they say "sweetheart can you play it?"
she says "watch me"
walking away from excuses
not listening to doubt
I found the fire
no one can put out

Chorus
say whatcha say
watch me do it anyway
watch me never giving up
watch me hanging on by faith
say whatcha say
I'm too young or it's too late
I'ma do it anyway
watch me

say whatcha say
then get out of the way
say whatcha say whatcha say
then watch me

V2
He's not the man he was
when he went overseas
they say he won't walk again
but he says "watch me"
she finally walked away
took the bruises, left the key
he said she'd never leave
but she says "watch me"
Gonna get up off the floor
gonna take the hardest step
let 'em talk
they don't know me yet

Chorus

say whatcha say
i'm gonna start today
say whatcha say whatcha say
then watch me

Bridge
gonna do what no one does
gonna be what never was
Already dreamed it
livin' like I mean it
gonna finally take a stand
gonna be just who I am
I'm gonna free me
can you see me

Chorus
