Paradise
Written by Bruce Bergh
A tropical breeze blowin’ through my hair.
A cabana by the sea.
Sailboats cruise the water.
The palm trees sway, the sun shines on me.
This is my vision of perfection,
Within the boundaries of this earthly plane.
But, it can't compare to what lies ahead
When I greet my family waiting there for me in…
CHORUS:
Paradise, Paradise...
Like nothing you have ever seen before!
Paradise, oh, Paradise...
I'll meet you in Paradise!
I've had a glimpse of my salvation
By the way God’s changed me within.
And, I believe a better life awaits me
Separated from temptation and sin.
So, I'm planning on the ultimate destination
For my future in eternity.
I put my trust in the final words of Jesus
As He said, on the cross, "Today...You'll be with Me in..."
CHORUS
We'll step out of space, out of time,
To a new world we can't comprehend with our mind.
No sickness, no sorrow, unending tomorrows, perfection, enlightenment untold.
The streets paved with gold; new bodies, young and old.
Real peace, understanding, as we stand hand in hand in..
CHORUS
I don't know the time, or the place, or the year
When my life on this earth will be through.
But I do know that a "paradise" awaits
With an open invitation for me and you.
If you believe that your soul will live eternally,
And put your faith in Christ, God's Son,
To guide you through your 'earthly' years,
Then, I'll see you there, when we meet again in...
CHORUS
CHORUS
CHORUS
I'll meet you in Paradise,
Eternity will be so nice. `
I'll meet you in beautiful Paradise!

Interesting—slightly reminiscent of a cross between 1) a bunch of Jimmy Buffett songs, and 2) Garth Brooks’ “Two Pina Coladas—which basically gets me back to the basic issue I have with the song—it seems to try (I know this is not necessarily what you were shooting for) to merge/meld 1) beach drinking songs and 2) songs about heaven—and I don’t really have an idea as to what to do about that subtle but obvious conflict.
Generally, the production seemed decent enough (maybe a tad generic), and the vocals were ok.
Anyway, best wishes in your songwriting endeavors!
