California (Exported 15 Oct 2026)
(Verse)
I am slowly dying here
A fridged wind blows laying here
I had hope but hope just blew away
I left twenty months ago
Left my kids and left my home
I knew I would find my way
(Chorus)
Californiaʼs never felt so far away
Californiaʼs never felt so far away
(Verse)
The walls are paper thin
Neighbor tries to do her self in
Back away, donʼt say a word
Cause I am waiting for my call
For that train, for them all
But I canʼt wait no more
(Chorus)
Californiaʼs never felt so far away
Californiaʼs never felt so far away.
(Verse)
When the furlough ended I
Went back home, back to my life
Making lots of money again
Medicated overweight,
Oh hunny ainʼt the railroad great
Stop running just stay still
(Chorus)
Californiaʼs never felt so far away
Californiaʼs never felt so far away.
