COMEDY / NOVELTY / COUNTRY

Original lyrics and melody!

We all have some sort of dysfunctional family, that seeing the "perfect" TV families makes me wonder......

You are probably not going to like this but I think the premise is good but the execution is off. Too many references to TV shows that people like me have never seen. My suggestion would be to imply the characters, not state them. I honestly don’t know them. (Not a big TV watcher) Also make the chorus shorter. Here’s an example “I want a place where the hard stuff fades, I want a laugh‑track kind of day. I want things fixed before the final scene,
I want love to show up for me. Like my sitcom fantasy”. Be vulnerable. Shape it, or sharpen it with your own life’s experiences and I think it will be better. Just my 02

Mama’s got a Facebook feud with the neighbor down the road
Daddy yells at the TV like it personally owes him dough
My brother borrowed my truck, brought it back on E
Sis says Thanksgiving’s canceled over politics and sweet tea
I flip on that old box just to get a little peace
Dreamin’ of a living room that wraps it up in thirty minutes, clean

I want a house like the Tanners on a San Francisco street
Danny givin’ life advice, Uncle Jesse strummin’ me to sleep
Where every fight gets fixed before the credits roll and gleam
Yeah, they laugh, hug it out, and it’s all a simple dream
Sitcom Family, Sitcom Family (Sitcom Family)

Wish my cousin talked like Uncle Phil, calm and wise
Instead of Steve Urkel crashin’ stuff with “Did I do that?” vibes
Tim Taylor grunts instead of blowin’ up the shed
And Joey’s cuttin’ jokes, not my uncle after meds
My kids won’t clean their rooms, they’re glued to TikTok screens
I just want one heart-to-heart before the pizza box is seen

Yeah, give me laughs like Friday nights at nine-oh-three
Where the lesson hits you softly like a Full House harmony
No slammed doors, no long cold silences to mend
Just a group hug moment, cue the laugh track, fade to end
Sitcom Family, Sitcom Family (Sitcom Family)

We got love, don’t get me wrong, just a louder kind of way
Arguments last three days, not one commercial break
Mama says, “Say grace,” while Dad’s already eatin’ rolls
Dog runned off to Bel-Air, Lord, we’re losin’ all control.
But I still catch myself smilin’ at the mess I see

‘Cause maybe we’re just bloopers from a show nobody sees
Guess real life ain’t scripted, and the bills don’t disappear
No laugh track when it’s hard, no reruns year to year
But love still shows up even when the scene’s a wreck
Might not be Hollywood, but hey—it ain’t canceled yet

So I’ll keep dreamin’ big with that old TV glow
Where every problem’s solvable and everybody grows
Even if my own bunch drives me half insane
I still wouldn’t trade ‘em for a perfect frame
My Sitcom Family, Sitcom Family Sitcom Family
