About This Song

It started as a comedy song inspired by "The Chair". Cheesy pick up lines to a waitress at a bar. They would then quote song lyrics. Then it turned into more nostalgia about songs on the radio. Didn't come out as funny. So, I made it "fun" instead.

Feedback Requested

Wanted them to sing the actual songs, "Lets Get it On" and 'Keep Your Hands to Yourself." But it never came out that way. SUNO won't replicate an actual song. Comes across as two different song ideas mashed together? Agree or am I overthinking?

I think this has a lot of potential. My opinion is that it needs some spit and polish, but the idea and general framework is there. I don’t see 2 songs there. Clarify the jist of the song more, the chorus. The supporting cast is there.

How’s It Go

Written by Big Pappa

[Verse 1 - funny male voice]
Hey girl…
did it hurt when you fell from the sky?
’Cause an angel crash landed in my life.

You got them eyes oughta come with a warning
And a smile’ ‘ll mess up a good man’s morning
(this line sounds better in my head, sounds choppy here)

You come here often … or am I just late?
’Cause I’ll just buy you a drink and call it fate

[Verse 2 - funny male voice]
Are you a magician or sumthin’ like that?
’Cause everyone disappears like a magic act.

Do you believe in signs n stars n wonders?
I swear there’s a spell you just put me under

It’s like that song, you know… how’s it go?
[song pauses, stops]

[turns into a 60’s r&b slow song/cover of "Let's get It On" for the next line only]
Ewwww…. Hey, let’s get it ON… ohhh, LET’S get it on!

[original song picks back up]
[Chorus - duet with guy and girl)
Ain’t it funny how the jukebox knows
What we’re tryin’ to say but can’t say so

We lean on songs when nerves get shot
our words get all tied up in knots

From “Hello Darlin” to “Let it Be”
Every song’s got truth in it, ya see

We talk through tunes when we don’t know
That’s why we say, yeah, How’s it go?

[Verse 3 - sexy female vocals]
Boy slow it down, you ain’t that slick
Heard that same tired talk at table six

Them copy-paste lines don’t hit my heart
I ain’t fallin’ for your lame pick-up art

You sound real smooth in your own head
But I need real words, not what you just said

[Verse 4 - sexy female vocals]
I didn’t come out for a comedy show
I Didn’t get dressed for a cheap hello

If you wanna stay, better talk real slow
Drop them lines and , let your self show

You know how’s it go? Sumthin bout a shelf …

[song pauses, stops]
[turns into a southern rock song with a huge guitar riff/cover of "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" for the next line only]
and Don’t hand me no lines and keep yo hands to yo self

[original song starts back up]
[Chorus- duet with guy and girl]
Ain’t it funny how the jukebox knows
What we’re tryin’ to say but can’t say so

We lean on songs when nerves get shot
And our words get all tied up in knots

From “Lets get it On” to “Stand By Me”
(originally it was "Your Cheatin Heart" here instead of "Lets Get it On")
Ya know, Every song’s got some truth ya see

We talk through tunes when we don’t know
That’s why we say, hey….

What’s that song?
You know the one…
You mean….
The one with that guy….
You know…..
Oh yeah…

How’s it go?!?!

(piano solo)

[repeat chorus]
[Chorus- duet with guy and girl]
Ain’t it funny how the jukebox knows
What we’re tryin’ to say but can’t say so

We lean on songs when nerves get shot
And our words get all tied up in knots

From “Lets get it On” to “Stand By Me”
(originally it was "Faithfully" here instead of "Lets Get it On" and "Take on Me" instead of "Stand By Me")
Ya know, Every song’s got some truth ya see

We talk through tunes when we don’t know
That’s why we say, hey….

What’s that song?
You know the one…
You mean….
Oh, yeah...the one with that guy with the face….
yeah, I know…..
Oh yeah…

How’s it go?!?!
