About This Song

I have had this posted already but I have went off of some suggestions that a few people gave me. Thank you for that. The song title was Lay My Saddle Down.

This song is about a Rodeo man going through his inner thoughts and how the rodeo is his life.

Hey Ernest. Heard this tonight at the feedback night with Brent. It has a good vibe. When you say ain’t gonna lay this saddle down are you speaking specifically of the bronco or bull riddin’, because they don’t use a saddle do they? I am not up on rodeo’s much so I coukd be wrong. I get the roppin’ part in the 2nd verse as they do use a saddle to ride. Just curious? Nice effort.

Sonya I sent you a personal response but this is for others to see.
Hey Sonya!  My thought on it was about the ride and the moral value of Never laying your saddle down.  Yes I know that you don’t have a saddle ridding a bull compared to roping/wrangling/hogtying.  The underlying message is not giving up on something you believe in.  Never gonna lay your saddle down meaning your not gonna give up on your dream or something you love to do that makes you happy.

Ride Hard Die Hard

Written by Ernest Fruge,Jr

Climb up the rails into the shoot
Calm the nerves to your cowboy boots
You’ve picked a rough stock
and you only got 8 seconds on the clock

Strap down the flank and hold it tight
It might be the ride of this cowboys life
Nod your head to say your in
And let the bucking begin

—Chorus—
‘Cause I’m a ride hard die hard
Whiskey cowboy with a southern draw
Riddin’ bulls, bustin’ Broncs
Chasing Buckles and Honky Tonks
A back buster a calf rustler
Kickin’ spur adrenaline junker
Ain’t no way I’m going to the ground
Never gonna lay my saddle down

Up in the saddle rope in hand
Adjust my hat and make my stand
Back on this battleground
I’ve gotta get less seconds for this go round
Wipe off the sweat and find my peace
Clinch the hogtie between my teeth
Nod your head to say your in
And let the Ropin' begin

—Chorus—
2x
