This is a song about my father's younger brother Tim, 7th in a line of 9, who died in a motorcycle accident at age 19. I used to see his huge portrait hanging in my grandfather's house, and wonder about him.
This is just a demo. I know the timing is off a bit. That will be fixed when the musicians and vocalist work their magic.
I welcome any suggestions.
Beautiful clean track. Don’t sink any money into making it better.. Suggest you edit a few lines Ex: If you had stayed HOME that night
If you hadn’t gone for that drive xxxxx RIDE.
We drive cars, but we RIDE motorcycles. This will reinforce the authentic vibe of the song. Good luck!

I Know I Would’ve Liked You
Lyrics and melody by Jennifer Katusha
Verse 1
You were number 8 out of 9
Always up for a good time
Lived like you had nothing to lose
Down deep I think maybe you knew
That 19 was all you’d get
So you lived life with no regrets
If you were at a party everyone came
And everyone always knew your name
Pre-chorus
I look at your picture every once in a while
Those sky blue eyes and that movie-star smile
Chorus
I bet you would have laughed out loud
If you caught me breaking the rules
You’d wink and say that’s my girl
And keep it just between us two
We’d talk about the best days we’ve ever had
You’d tell me things I didn’t know ‘bout my dad
You were the one I never knew
But I know I would've liked you
Verse 2
The stories I’ve heard of you
I only have a few
My favorite one ever told
Was the one when you held me at just days old
I find myself thinkin’ about
How life would be different now
If you had stayed in that night
If you hadn’t gone for that drive
Pre-chorus
I look at your picture every once in a while
Those sky blue eyes and that movie-star smile
Chorus
I bet you would have laughed out loud
If you caught me breaking the rules
You’d wink and say that’s my girl
And keep it just between us two
We’d talk about the best days we’ve ever had
You’d tell me things I didn’t know ‘bout my dad
You were the one I never knew
But I know I would've liked you
Bridge
When I start complanin’
I can hear you sayin’
Life’s yours don’t forget it
So pick yourself up and go get it
It goes quick
So don’t waste it
Chorus
I bet you would have laughed out loud
If you caught me breaking the rules
You’d wink and say that’s my girl
And keep it just between us two
We’d talk about the best days we’ve ever had
You’d tell me things I didn’t know ‘bout my dad
You were the one I never knew
But I know I would've liked you
Ooooo, I would've liked you
I know I would've liked you
And I think you would've liked me too

It’s a nice song. I wouldn’t change anything. To me, it doesn’t sound like radio but could easily be on an album with the right artist.
