Could this song be country?
If so, how could I make it more country-ish?
What other instruments could I add without overpowering the vocals and the tenderness of it?

Beautiful first verse and chorus. Really great start! Just a thought, in the second verse, creating a juxtaposition using the imagery of a sunny day with the same result. I think it would reinforce the message I think you’re trying to convey, which is seeing people, the world, and things with love like God does. Really beautiful melody as well.

Oooooo!  That’s a good idea.  Now, let’s see if I can pull it off. Sometimes I can.  Sometimes I can’t. I appreciate your kind words and your suggestion.  Thank you so much, Joseph. smile

Joseph -
I tried your suggestion, but the words just weren’t coming.  I loved your idea, though!

If We Saw the World...

Written by Jennifer Katusha

If We Saw The World Just Like You
Lyrics and melody by Jennifer Katusha

Verse 1
One day when it was raining
And I was busy complaining
‘Bout the gray and the clouds
and wet that was coming down
You said think of all that comes with it
Remember what is, not what isn’t
Then you tilted your head like you do
Said, rain brings the flowers you love… and I love you

Chorus
You have a way of finding the gold
Bringing us doubters in from the cold
You make the ordinary… extraordinary
All the good we could…
If we saw the world just like you

Verse 2
When time comes collecting
And I start forgetting
The names and the faces
The people and places
I hope one thing I keep
Is all that you taught me
I’ll send the rest off with a smile
Knowing it was mine for a while

Chorus
You have a way of finding the gold
Bringing us doubters in from the cold
Making the ordinary... extraordinary ...
All the good we could do...
If we saw the world just like you

Bridge
Ooooooooo
Oooooooooo
Ooooooooo
Oooooooooo

Chorus
You have a way of finding the gold
Bringing us doubters in from the cold
Making the ordinary... extraordinary ...
All the good we could do...
If we saw the world just like you

Outro
If we saw the world just like you
