I would like to know, honestly, what people think of these vocals.  Don’t worry about hurting my feelings. Do they sound ‘current’?  I don’t think so but I’m just checking smile

Wenda,

I like the lyrics, but I’d agree with you. I don’t think they sound current. Thanks for sharing this with us.

the lyrics, or the voice?

I don’t think the vocals are necessarily outdated.  They sound natural…  You aren’t trying to sound like someone other than yourself. The softness of them seem to work with this song, but I wonder if you have a more resonant and heavier tone for other songs.  (I’m asking before listening to your other stuff, so I don’t know yet).  You also are able to sing softly and not lose pitch, which is a plus!

Wendy, to me I think it its the voice. Maybe its just the beginning. It could just be that fact that the first part reminds me of a Lorrie Morgan song from the 90’s.

Dan, thank you for the comment. I don’t consider myself a singer. I used to, but then I started getting comments that my voice sounds old. No surprise I guess. I am 55. So I’m debating whether to just stop singing altogether and find other people to sing.

so now we’re 50-50, on whether the voice sounds dated or not… lol..

Dennis, i haven’t heard of Lorrie Morgan; if you remember the name of the song I’d be curious to hear it to see if it gives me perspective. Thanks.

cheers
