About This Song

I sat at my kitchen table after a crazy weekend of shows. Seems like I had been everyone but home for a long time, and not much to show for it. The house was empty, with my wife and 2 girls at school for the day, but there were remnants of the week I had missed. Dishes in the sink, games out on the table, and a bowl of crusty Mac n cheese. As I sat there in the quiet, reevaluating my life decisions, I started looking at our old table and wondering what it wisdom it would offer if it could talk.

Does the story make sense? I'm worried it gets confusing in a few spots

Great song Brandon.  The lyrics really resonate, regardless of occupation or artistic pursuit.  You can feel the conflict in the chorus.  Very well written.  Thanks for sharing here.

Kitchen Table Talks

Kitchen Tables Talk

V1:
My kids had mac and cheese here yesterday

There's dishes in the sink, and drinks left on the bar

This old table leaves me clues while I'm away

Somehow it knows the truth, I’m selling out my heart

V2:
This house don’t make a sound when they’re away

I told myself 10 years ago, it's all part of the plan

So tonight’s another reason I can't stay

another stage, another chance to show em who I am

C:
But this tables sayin' "please. sit. down.

All that runnin's gonna wear you out

There's gonna come a day, when you wish you'd learned to stop

For Mac and CHeese

 V3:
There's a rhythm that this old oak table brings

Every scar another story from generations past

And somehow I know that rhythm’s what I need

To write another story bout a life that's not so fast

BR:
But I’ve been busy chasing down my dreams

To tell the truth, I don’t have much to show

But sitting in the quiet here it seems

The dream lives here, while I’m out on the road
